I know there are already a bunch of tools for doing this same thing, but I’m a big google fanboi. The nice thing about goo.gl is they have an API which makes accessing the shortener easy. Matthew Flashen already wrote some JS for a bookmarklet for this. You just save that into your bookmarks, I saved it to my Delicious bookmarks, and you can call it on whatever URL. It alerts you the shortened URL and just copy and paste from there. Sweet!

Hi Tom,
I know this is not a help forum, and forgive me for spamming your blog.
Your version of ThickBox is used in Noah’s Classifieds, so I know that you are a ThickBox expert, and the official ThickBox forum is not very active. So I would like to beg a little help of you.
I have Noah’s Classifieds in an iframe (in Joomla) and I would like to open ThickBox in the parent frame, is this possible? If so, how?
Also, I would like to call a function when ThickBox loads. How do I do this?
As I said, I know this is not a help forum and I do expect you to delete this message from your blog. However, I would appreciate the few minutes it takes for you to answer my questions.
Thanks,
Ron Wade
Sure, I can help, but you didn’t leave any contact info
